Pierpaolo Belardinelli
Associate Editor
Associate Professor, Department of Construction, Civil Engineering and Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy
Pierpaolo Belardinelli earned his Ph.D. from the Polytechnic University of Marche in 2015. He then pursued postdoctoral research at Delft University of Technology, in the Department of Precision and Microsystems Engineering. Since 2019, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic University of Marche, and as of 2024, he serves as an Associate Professor. He continues his research on theoretical and experimental topics in dynamics, vibrations, and computational mechanics, with a particular focus on the local and global nonlinear dynamics of micro- and nanoscale systems, including Atomic Force Microscopy, carbon nanotubes, and 2D materials. Recently, he has expanded his research to incorporate machine learning and data-driven techniques into the field of nonlinear dynamics, with the goal of developing new identification routines and data-driven modeling approaches.
