Hiroyuki Sugiyama is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Iowa. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2005. His research interests include computational dynamics of multibody systems, off-road mobility simulation, tire dynamics, and wheel-rail contact for rail vehicles. He is an Editorial Board member of Multibody System Dynamics journal, IMechE Journal of Multi-body Dynamics, and International Journal of Vehicle Performance. He has served as a chair of the ASME Technical Committee on Multibody Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics (TC-MSND), 2019-2021.
